I received a "thinking of you" card in the mail today from someone at my church. Her name is Jill. When I opened it handwriting mostly filled it. Jill and her husband were our Sunday School teachers when we first began attending our church. In the years past of their life they had been missionaries in another country.

She wrote encouraging words to me. They are currently in a similar financial situation. Her husband had just been diagnosed with colon cancer. Now he was not working and she had only a part time job.

The card made me cry. Her situation is more difficult than mine but she had the attitude to reach out. She told me the Lord will provide. I believe it. I'm going to treasure those four words in the days ahead when discouragement comes my way. And I'm going to pray for Jill and her husband more.
