The writer of Marathonpundit emailed my husband to let us know he cross posted my fartlek blog entry. I'm honored.

He also added some interesting word origin info. He said that, Fartlek comes from Swedish, it translates into 'sudden burst'. Like English, Swedish is a Germanic language, so the root word, for—er—you know—must be the same as the one for fartlek.

Here's the definition:

"a training technique, used esp. among runners, consisting of bursts of intense effort loosely alternating with less strenuous activity."
